About Alfred Elmore

Our artist of the week is Alfred Elmore (1815-1881), and he was born in Ireland. He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts. During his lifetime he produced paintings in several different styles. He painted in the troubadour style, historical narrative style, and classical style. Some of his most popular works are “On The Brink”, “Two Gentlemen of Verona”, and “The Origin of the Stocking Loom”. Here are some examples of his work.

We will of course choose one of his amazing masterpieces for our 30 minute painting challenge this week. Stay tuned to see which one. If you have a favorite that you’d like me to copy, let me know in the comments.
